Sri Ganganagar, July 19: The Border Security Force (BSF) personnel have apprehended an infiltrator from the India-Pakistan International Border in Sriganganagar of the state.
In the Joint Interrogation (JIC) of the agencies, this intruder has admitted to coming to India for the murder of Nupur Sharma. The name of the intruder is Rizwan Ashraf. Religious books, maps, clothes, food items and two sharp knives have been recovered from Rizwan Ashraf.
Meanwhile, inquiries are going on from this, in which many more revelations are also expected.
Sri Ganganagar Superintendent of Police Anand Sharma said that the accused Rizwan Ashraf, a resident of Kuthiyal Shekha in Pakistan, had crossed the pillar on the Indo-Pak border and came near the fencing on the intervening night of 16-17. When the BSF jawans saw him, he was given a warning and surrendered. The caught intruder was handed over by BSF to Hindumalkot police station.
After registering the FIR against Ashraf, the Multi Agency Joint Interrogation team was informed. The preliminary report of the team has come out after questioning Ashraf.
According to this, a bag has been seized from the accused. Some clothes, some religious books, two knives in which one big and the other small knife have been found in the bag.
According to the interrogation of joint agencies, the accused told that he was angry with Nupur Sharma’s statement and was trying to enter India to take revenge for the same.
However, Rizwan Ashraf had no concrete information about Nupur Sharma’s whereabouts. He is so religiously fanatical that he wanted to reach his target by entering India. He had come with the objective of first entering India and then finding Nupur Sharma. Police Joint Agencies are interrogating the accused in this case; more revelations are likely in this.
