Those who plunder development funds and insult Sanatan will be wiped out: Yogi Adityanath
Gorakhpur, May 05: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, while congratulating the people of West Bengal for the results of the assembly elections, has called it a big lesson for the political parties who neglect the people.
He said that whoever neglects the public, plunders the development money, gives shelter to goons and insults Sanatan, is sure to be wiped out. The people of West Bengal have also shown it by doing so. Now, under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, West Bengal will become ‘Sonar Bangla’.
Chief Minister Yogi was addressing the gathering on Tuesday afternoon after inaugurating the newly constructed Kalyan Mandapam (convention center) at Jungle Beni Madhav and laying the foundation stone for 71 development projects worth ₹612.32 crore in Gorakhpur.
Chief Minister said that only a good government brings good results. Without a good government, the outcome is similar to that of West Bengal. Referring to the development and public welfare initiatives underway in Uttar Pradesh and Gorakhpur since 2017, he said that when the intentions are clear, the policies are clear, and there is a strong determination to do something, meaningful results are achieved. These results are evident across Uttar Pradesh, including Gorakhpur.
Yogi said that the closed fertilizer factory in Gorakhpur was a monument to the corruption of the Congress and Samajwadi Party governments. Today, the fertilizer factory is operating successfully. An overbridge has been constructed from Nakaha to the fertilizer factory and sports college. A four-lane road has been constructed from Bargadwa via Nakaha to Mohaddipur. The four-lane main road in Maheshwar has now eliminated traffic jams. Soon, four-lane connectivity will be available from Mahesra to Lucknow via Madhopur, Hubert Bandha, and Rajghat. The journey from Mahesra to Rajghat will take just five minutes. The four-lane road will also strengthen the embankment. Previously, it took 8-9 hours to travel from Gorakhpur to Lucknow. Today, this distance can be covered in three to three and a half hours. The journey to Varanasi has also been reduced to two and a half hours. With the four-lane bypass being constructed from Jungle Kaudia to Jagdishpur, the journey to Kushinagar via Mahesra will take only half an hour. Yogi said that the faster the pace, the faster the development.
Chief Minister said that after 2017, his government transformed Gorakhpur’s image. Previously, Gorakhpur was known for mosquitoes and the mafia. Now, both the mafia and mosquitoes have disappeared. Gorakhpur is now known for security, cleanliness, prosperity, and strong roads. The youth here are no longer dependent on identity, but proudly declare themselves to be from Gorakhpur.
Taking aim at previous governments, the Chief Minister said that those whose practices were corrupt, who fostered mafias, and who spread anarchy had brought the state’s identity into question. His government has given the state a strong new identity by providing an environment of security and prosperity.
The Chief Minister also highlighted the merits of the Kalyan Mandapam and other development projects. He said that the Kalyan Mandapam will serve as a means to make public events for low- and middle-income groups grand and memorable. A total of nine Kalyan Mandapams have either been completed or are under construction in the city, and he has provided funds from his MLA fund for their construction.
At the ceremony, MP Ravi Kishan Shukla and Mayor Dr. Manglesh Srivastava said that development and public welfare are Chief Minister Yogi’s goals. Under his leadership, a wave of progress is flowing across Gorakhpur and the entire state.
Before the stage program, the Chief Minister formally inaugurated the Kalyan Mandapam by cutting the ribbon. He then toured the Mandapam to inspect its infrastructure and facilities. He also promoted environmental protection by planting a sapling in the Kalyan Mandapam complex.
