
SGPGI sanitation worker found murdered in vacant plot in Lucknow
Lucknow, May 9: The body of a young man was found in a vacant plot in the Bijnor police station area of Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh, on Saturday. He had been murdered by smashing his head and face. Police identified the body, informed the family, and began further investigation, the Lucknow apprised.
The Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) South Amit Kumar Anand said that the body of a man was found this morning in a vacant plot on the banks of a lake outside the village of Ashraf Nagar, near the Bijnor police station area. Police identified the deceased as Suraj Gautam, a resident of Ashraf Nagar village. He was a contract sanitation worker at the PGI Hospital.
Considering the seriousness of the incident, Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) and Assistant Commissioner of Police Krishnanagar inspected the scene.
During questioning, family members told police that their son, Suraj, left home at 8:30 pm, saying he was going to leave and never returned. When his phone was called at night, it was switched off. A search was then launched for him. During the investigation, the police found a brick with blood stains on it. A forensic team was called to the scene and necessary evidence was collected from the scene.
The station in-charge stated that based on the complaint received from the family, a case has been registered under relevant sections and further action is being taken. The case is being thoroughly investigated, taking all aspects into account. The necessary facts will be uncovered soon and action will be taken as per the rules.
