After βΉ101.10 cr opening, ‘Toxic’ earnings fall to βΉ26.60 cr on day 3 despite holiday boost
Kannada superstar Yash’s action-thriller ‘Toxic’ has seen a slight slowdown in box office performance on the third day of its release. The film had a strong opening in theaters, collecting a whopping βΉ101.10 crore on its first day. However, earnings dropped to βΉ37.65 crore on the second day. According to Sacnilk, despite the Raksha Bandhan holiday, the film grossed approximately βΉ26.60 crore on the third day. This brings the film’s total collection in the first three days to approximately βΉ165.35 crore.
While audiences were enthusiastic about ‘Toxic’ from the outset, it has received mixed to negative reviews from critics. Despite this, the film has maintained a strong foothold in the Hindi film market. Based on its first three days of earnings, “Toxic” has reached the eighth spot on the list of this year’s highest-grossing Hindi films. The film has surpassed the lifetime collections of Imtiaz Ali’s “Main Wapas Aaunga” and Shahid Kapoor’s “O Romeo.” It now has its sights set on “Cocktail 2.”
Directed by Geetu Mohandas, “Toxic” revolves around gangster Raya (Yash), who is raised by his sister Ganga (Nayanthara). Raya is in a relationship with Rebecca (Tara Sutaria), but the story takes a new turn when circus artist Nadia (Kiara Advani) enters his life. Raya and Nadia’s love story, along with the events surrounding their son, “Ticket,” are also important elements of the film. Rukmini Vasanth and Sudev Nair also play lead roles in the film. “Toxic” is jointly produced by Yash and KVN Productions.
