Third comeback: Mayawati reinstates Akash Anand in key role
Lucknow, October 5: The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) National President Mayawati on Monday reinstated her nephew Akash Anand into the party and entrusted him with the responsibility of National Coordinator. This is Akash Anand’s third return.
Former Chief Minister and party supremo Mayawati posted on Twitter on Monday, stating that the ideals of Babasaheb Ambedkar and Kanshi Ram have always been a source of inspiration for the party, following which the party has achieved considerable success in national politics. Intensive preparations are underway for the upcoming state assembly general elections.
She also stated that the “Bahujan Samaj” is her large family, and their interests and welfare are paramount to her and will always remain so. Keeping this in mind, several strict decisions have been taken, especially to maintain discipline within the party. She further stated that Ashok Siddhartha was forced to retire from politics. Since then, significant changes have been observed in Akash Anand’s personality and work style. A recent post on social media about his “X” has been widely discussed.
Mayawati stated that most within the party are agreeing to Akash Anand’s request and giving him the opportunity to return to the party with his previous responsibilities. Her father and younger brother, Ishaan Anand, have also expressed their support. Ishaan Anand has stated that he will fulfill whatever tasks are assigned to him in the party, even without a position, with complete honesty and dedication.
Mayawati stated that after much deliberation, in the interest of the party and the movement, she is reappointing Akash Anand as the BSP’s National Convenor, giving him the opportunity to work within the party. It is hoped that with Ashok Siddhartha’s retirement from politics, everything will run smoothly within the party and that frequent changes to the party organization will not be necessary, although this will largely depend on Akash Anand.
