CM Yogi slams selective voices, questions silence over Waqf land encroachment
Pratapgarh, July 7: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched a scathing attack on the opposition over the alleged donation theft case in Ayodhya. He questioned why the Samajwadi Party and Congress party are not speaking out about the thousands of crores of rupees scam involving Waqf land. They are using one incident to insult Hindu faith, while action is being taken based on the SIT report on the entire incident.
Chief Minister Adityanath was addressing a gathering after inaugurating and laying the foundation stone for 111 development projects worth Rs 384 crore here on Tuesday. He said that the opposition does not like youth getting employment because when these youth work, caste-based politics will end. The opposition once again wants to divide the fabric of society on the basis of caste. They want to tear it apart. We must rise above this.
He asked what kind of issues these people bring up. No issue is new. Their focus is division in the name of caste or attacks on faith. You must have seen how much they have been conspiring to attack India’s eternal faith in the last few days. What kind of statements are being made? Remember when Congress used to say that Ram never existed. Congress used to say that Krishna never existed. In Ayodhya, Congress and Samajwadi Party were shedding crocodile tears by supporting the Babri structure. Today, you must be seeing how the same Congress and Samajwadi Party have changed their colors like chameleons.
Yogi said that now they (SP and Congress) are saying that faith has been tampered with in Ayodhya. Who is being tampered with faith? First, tell me, when did you start having faith in Ayodhya? Pointing to the crowd, he said, “Their ancestors fought for Ayodhya. They can speak, but the Congress and Samajwadi Party have no right to speak. The Congress and the Samajwadi Party refused to acknowledge the existence of Ram, and what faith are they talking about today? They used to spend the money meant for the restoration of religious sites connected to Hindu heritage on the boundary walls of graveyards. What faith are they talking about? You should ask the Congress and the Samajwadi Party this very question. You should ask them, when you were in power, you ordered firing on Ram devotees, used batons for chanting ‘Jai Shri Ram’. The Congress even went to the Supreme Court to say that Ram never existed. Where was this Congress? The country’s largest, oldest party was talking like this at that time.”
Yogi said, “Go to Ramji’s ghat today and see people bathing there. It’s so beautiful. Today’s Ayodhya attracts the world. This is the opposition’s pain. So many people are reaching Ayodhya despite their unwillingness. They are concerned about this. Sometimes I have doubts. I doubt how these people are magnifying an incident and insulting Hindus and attacking their faith. I want to ask the SP and Congress members, while you are taunting Hindu faith with the alleged theft in Ayodhya, tell me, did you even once question the scam in the name of Waqf? Thousands of hectares of land have been sold within the state and the country. These people have not spoken about this even once. This land belonged to the poor, to the weaker sections of society. This land could have been leased in the name of the poor. A convention center could have been built there.”
Yogi said that regarding Ayodhya, he had recently said that the Uttar Pradesh government had formed an SIT on the demand of the Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust. The SIT will separate the wheat from the chaff. Based on the committee’s preliminary investigation report, the trust has taken action and filed an FIR. Action is being taken based on the evidence against those against whom there is evidence.
