Lucknow to lead India’s tech transformation, says CM Yogi at HCL Tech event
Lucknow, October 6: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath attended the event organized to mark the 10th anniversary of HCL Tech Lucknow on Tuesday. On this occasion, he said that in the next 10 years, we must make Lucknow a hub not only for IT services but also for AI, semiconductors, cyber security, computing technology, and deep tech.
In his address, Chief Minister Yogi said that 10 years ago, HCL chose Uttar Pradesh and Lucknow, and Lucknow adopted HCL. Today, every person in Uttar Pradesh can feel proud of this shared journey.
He said that the success of this campus is not only due to the hard work of the employees, but also to this hard work, there is the prayer of a mother and a father that the dreams of their sons and daughters are coming true, and with a belief that Lucknow is gaining global recognition, which we all see today in the form of HCL in the capital, Lucknow.
Chief Minister Yogi said, what was the situation 10 years ago? If a youth from Uttar Pradesh earned a degree, they had to choose Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, or Mumbai for a career. Today, our youth from Uttar Pradesh are not only choosing Lucknow for their careers, but youth from around the world are also coming to Uttar Pradesh. This is recognition and change. Once, the youth of Uttar Pradesh used to wander elsewhere. Today, the youth of Uttar Pradesh are choosing Lucknow, and the youth of the world are being forced to choose Lucknow. Today, daughters and sisters in Uttar Pradesh work night shifts without hesitation and go home without hesitation.
He said that those who were a menace 10 years ago, targeting police officers and instilling fear and terror, now panic when they even see a police vehicle. No miscreant dares to harass a sister or daughter now, knowing that if they do, their next journey will be to another world, not this one.
The Chief Minister further stated that with the initiatives being launched today, we want to continue this 10-year celebration and make Lucknow a hub not only for IT services but also for AI, semiconductors, cybersecurity, computing technology, and deep tech. We must prepare ourselves for this.
Yogi said that Uttar Pradesh’s greatest strength has been its land; we have the most fertile land in the world. I say that we have precious land and the youngest workforce. We possess the greatest talent in this young force. This is my greatest strength and power.
“In Lucknow, we used to see people saying, “Smile, you’re in Lucknow!” But the filth of Lucknow, the conditions in Uttar Pradesh at that time, meant welcomes with pistols and bombs. The mafia ran a parallel government. There were no opportunities for youth, let alone electricity. Electricity was a patent for a few families in Uttar Pradesh. Today, Uttar Pradesh has changed. There is no identity crisis. There is no employment crisis. There is no job crisis”, added Yogi.
Chief Minister said that in nine and a half years, we have given government jobs to 1 million youth.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated the Phase-2 expansion of HCL IT City Lucknow on this occasion. With an investment of approximately Rs 500 crore, approximately 9.5 lakh square feet of new area will be developed on 20 acres of land, which will include a new IT building, a seating capacity of approximately 5,000, multi-level car parking and modern facilities like a cafeteria. This expansion is expected to create approximately 6,000 new direct and indirect employment opportunities in Lucknow.
