Lucknow, September 19: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday launched Mission Employment, announcing one lakh new government jobs and personally handing appointment letters to 818 newly selected candidates, extending his best wishes for their future service.
Addressing Samajwadi Party leaders who questioned the government, CM Yogi said, “You keep counting, we will appoint more than one lakh youth in six months. Today, we are handing out appointment letters for three departments. On Sunday, we will also appoint about a thousand youth. This process will continue uninterrupted. 36,000 youth will be appointed to the UP Police and 41,000 to 42,000 to the Home Guard. Their medical and physical tests are underway. The Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC) results, expected to be released in the next six months, will provide opportunities to 25,000 to 30,000 new youth. The Uttar Pradesh Education Selection Commission will also recruit 20,000 to 25,000 youth, with results expected in three to four months. Following the UPPSC examinations, 15,000 to 16,000 youth will also receive appointments in various departments.”
Chief Minister Yogi distributed appointment letters to 818 youth selected in various departments at a program held in the Lok Bhavan auditorium. A short film on Mission Employment was also shown during the ceremony. The Chief Minister congratulated the officials of the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission and the Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission and said that when commissions and boards are not victims of government politics and conduct a fair examination process, the results are similar.
Chief Minister said that so far, 9.5 lakh youth have been appointed. We will continue to distribute appointment letters to 1 lakh youth within six months. Those who created trouble before 2017 should count, we will continue to distribute appointment letters. Before 2017, the then government had discredited the entire process by appointing nepotism and nephews to commissions and boards. Not a single recruitment was conducted honestly. Young people faced a difficult situation. There were no jobs in Uttar Pradesh and a crisis of identity outside, which shattered their dreams. Uttar Pradesh had become sick due to the corrupt, discriminatory practices and sick mentality of the then government.
Yogi said that before 2017, an incompetent person was appointed Chairman of the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission. His rebellion prompted the courts and the youth to take to the streets to demand that he rot in jail for life. In 2017, the youth also took the important decision to change the government. Our government expanded the Mission Rozgar program in line with PM Modi’s vision. The previous government failed to honor the power, strength, and talent of youth. We recognized Uttar Pradesh’s strength as economic opportunity. They had locked up opportunities within Uttar Pradesh; we attempted to unlock that potential through talented youth. The results are now visible.
Chief Minister said that when talented youth become Uttar Pradesh’s strength, the state will establish itself as the number one economy. It will establish itself as the new Uttar Pradesh of New India in every field. Uttar Pradesh is the heart of the country, with the most fertile land, the largest water resources, and a state that thrives on traditional enterprises. This state, which once had the highest per capita income, went through a political transition that left young people with an identity crisis. No one was safe during that period. Young people lacked a platform to suit their interests.
CM Yogi alleged that before 2017, the preaching uncle-nephew duo fearlessly went about robbing jobs, but after 2027, they won’t even be able to preach. Those who turned a festive state into a riotous state, those who drove farmers to suicide, and those who left the citizens of UP to starve, should not be tolerated, because this was not a case of mistake, but of mischief. We are now free from this dark stain. The
Chief Minister alleged that during the SP regime, non-applicants received appointment letters, while those who applied were left watching. The Chief Minister appealed to the youth to jeopardize the future of those who tampered with their future. Baba Saheb has given you this power through the Constitution.
Chief Minister said that after forming the government, zero tolerance was implemented in every sector. Now, no one from Uttar Pradesh faces an identity crisis. Even people from other states are overwhelmed by Uttar Pradesh’s achievements. The SP government considered challenges as problems. They continued to facilitate dishonesty and corruption through family syndicates. Before 2017, Uttar Pradesh was considered one of the poorest states, but we resolved the challenge, successfully tripling Uttar Pradesh’s per capita income, economy, female workforce, and budget. Uttar Pradesh has been a revenue surplus state for six years, a vital component of India’s growth engine, and among the top three economies. Through the power of collective thinking, Uttar Pradesh is known for its infrastructure, economic growth, ODOP, and the MSME sector. The MSME sector has employed over 30 million people. Before 2017, it was stagnant.
Chief Minister announced that the fourth edition of the UP International Trade Show (UPITS) will be held in Gautam Buddha Nagar from September 25 to 29. Around 650 foreign buyers will purchase products from Uttar Pradesh. More than 2,500 exhibitors will attend. Products made by Uttar Pradesh’s youth, artisans, handicraftsmen, and entrepreneurs will be showcased. They will receive significant orders.
