UP once questioned, now celebrated for women’s safety: Yogi

Lucknow, October 12: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath worshipped the form of Maa Brahmacharini on the second day of Sharadiya Navratri. He discussed its importance with the people of the state. He said that the mantra of accomplishment through penance and determination of Maa Brahmacharini teaches us that with strong willpower, even seemingly impossible goals can be achieved.

Chief Minister compared Uttar Pradesh before and after 2017 on micro- blogging site ‘X’

He said that Uttar Pradesh, which was surrounded by questions regarding women’s safety before 2017, has today become a new identity of women’s safety and strength. Over the past 9.5 years, a zero-tolerance policy towards crime and criminals, technology-based surveillance, prompt police action, and public awareness campaigns have played a decisive role in creating a fear-free environment for women in the state.

Strengthening the Women’s Security System: CM Yogi stated that initiatives like the five phases of Mission Shakti, the Safe City Project, Mission Shakti Centers, and Women‘s Beat Policing have provided a broad and robust foundation for the women’s security system.

Chief Minister also highlighted the contribution of women in the police workforce, stating that with 20 percent reservation, the Uttar Pradesh women police workforce has increased from 10,000 to over 44,000. Additionally, three women PAC battalions have been formed in the names of Veerangna Uda Devi Pasi in Lucknow, Veerangna Jhalkari Bai Kori in Gorakhpur, and Veerangna Avanti Bai Lodhi in Badaun. The government is realizing the pledge of “Empowered Women – Prosperous Uttar Pradesh.”

CM Yogi assured the citizens that the state’s double-engine government’s round-the-clock journey of empowerment through women’s safety is realizing the pledge of “Empowered Women – Prosperous Uttar Pradesh.”
