Commissionerate police solves murder mystery in Lucknow, two held
Lucknow, May 10: The commissionerate police on Sunday cracked the case of a young man whose body was discovered in an empty plot in the Bijnor police station area a day earlier, revealing he was murdered over a love affair, and arrested one criminal along with a juvenile in connection with the crime.
The Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) South Amit Kumar Anand, while revealing the incident on Sunday, said that Suraj’s body was recovered on May 9 from an empty plot outside the village of Ashraf Nagar. Based on a complaint from the family, the police registered a murder case and began searching for the accused. Surveillance and the local police station solved Suraj’s murder within 24 hours. Police arrested Anil Yadav and a juvenile from a culvert on the drain in Rasulpur village late last night. Based on his information, the murder weapon, a chopper and a brick, were recovered.
During interrogation, the main accused, Anil Yadav, revealed that his mother, Sushma Devi, had been in a love affair with Suraj for about three years. Two months ago, he saw Suraj in an objectionable position with his mother. At that time, due to social shame, he was unable to say anything to his mother or Suraj. Later, he told Suraj not to come to his house, but he refused.
The DCP further apprised that the prime accused told this angered him, and he hatched a plan with his uncle (a juvenile offender) to murder Suraj. Before going to a wedding on May 8, he paid Suraj to buy alcohol. Afterward, we drank alcohol in an empty plot near the lake in front of a mango orchard outside the village. He was given excessive alcohol, causing him to become intoxicated. When he struck Suraj in the face with the chopper he had hidden, intending to kill him, Suraj started running away. He fell a short distance away. I then hit him with an axe and the juvenile delinquent with a brick until he died. We took Suraj’s mobile phone from his pocket, threw the axe and the blood-soaked brick into a nearby pasture field, and fled.
Preliminary investigations also revealed that the accused had washed the blood stains from their clothes and worn them back to the wedding to avoid suspicion. When the police arrived at the scene, we also went there to avoid suspicion.
The Deputy Commissioner of Police stated that the accused, Anil, worked as a sweeper in a mall, while the juvenile delinquent is a Class 9 student. Police have sent the juvenile delinquent to a juvenile correctional home and have taken legal action against the main accused and sent him to jail.
