Election chief’s Lucknow tour focuses on engagement with Gen‑Z

Lucknow, August 24: Chief Election Commissioner of India Gyanesh Kumar has reached Lucknow on Monday morning on his two-day visit to Uttar Pradesh. The Chief Election Commissioner will interact with representatives of political parties as well as Gen-Z here on Monday and Tuesday. He will participate in the programme being organised to give information about the election process in schools, colleges and universities of Uttar Pradesh.

Upon his arrival in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh, Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, speaking to reporters, said, “Lucknow has been my holy land; I also received my education here. I have come to convey a message to the voters of Uttar Pradesh. In particular, our booth-level officers, who are the foundation of democracy, will be briefed. Programs will also be held in all the universities and schools across the state to explain the transparency and integrity of the election process.”

It is noteworthy that India’s Chief Election Commissioner achieved academic success by topping the UP Board in both high school (1979) and intermediate (1981). He topped the UP Board in high school in 1979 out of 1 million students. He again topped the UP Board in 1981 out of 600,000 students.
