First solo century: Hashmi’s ‘Awarapan 2’ hits ₹100 Cr milestone
Emraan Hashmi’s film ‘Awarapan 2’ is performing exceptionally well at the box office. The film has crossed the 100 crore mark at the domestic box office in just five days of its release. This marks Emraan Hashmi’s first solo film to achieve this feat. Directed by Nitin Kakkar and produced by Vishesh Bhatt Films, the film is a sequel to the 2007 release ‘Awarapan’. The film’s strong earnings have set a new record for the actor’s career.
According to preliminary figures from Sacnilk, ‘Awarapan 2’ collected a net collection of approximately 9.75 crore rupees on Tuesday, the fifth day of its release. Prior to this, on the fourth day, the film earned 9.25 crore rupees, while from opening day to the weekend, the film grossed 81.75 crore rupees. This brings the film’s total net collection in India to ₹100.75 crore. The film’s gross collection at the domestic box office to approximately ₹120.33 crore, and its worldwide total to ₹144.13 crore.
With the success of “Awarapan 2,” Emraan Hashmi has surpassed the box office records of several of his previous blockbuster films. His “The Dirty Picture” grossed approximately ₹80 crore, “Baadshaho” ₹78 crore, and “Raaz 3” ₹70 crore. Having crossed the ₹100 crore mark in just five days, the film is expected to continue its strong run. Disha Patani and Shabana Azmi also star in the film alongside Emraan Hashmi.
