Independence rooted in penance and sacrifice of brave martyrs, says CM Yogi on I Day speech in Lucknow
Lucknow, August 15: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath hoisted the flag on the occasion of Independence Day on Saturday at his official residence at 5 Kalidas Marg. In his address on this occasion, he said that we all know that on this day in 1947, our country India achieved independence as a result of a long struggle, sacrifice and self-denial. The feeling of independence that every Indian experiences today is the result of the sacrifice, penance and sacrifice of those great sons of Mother India.
Chief Minister Yogi said that it is true that the country became enslaved due to internal conflicts and conspiracies, but our country did not accept this slavery wholeheartedly. Struggles and movements against this slavery took place at different times in different regions of the country. The first war of independence of 1857 was a significant milestone in the collective effort towards independence. Under the leadership of martyr Mangal Pandey in Barrackpore, under the leadership of Rani Lakshmibai of Jhansi in Jhansi, and under the leadership of Dhan Singh Kotwal in Meerut, this flame of independence was visible in every village, every district, every province. Everyone shared a common belief and sentiment: to free their country from foreign slavery. Independence does not mean merely political freedom.
Yogi stated that it also means complete liberation from the anarchy, backwardness, poverty, illiteracy, and inequality that have steadily weakened this country. Due to the sacrifices of our great sons, we have now celebrated 79 years of independence. We are all connected to the 80th Independence Day celebrations. This day does not allow us to limit ourselves to a single celebration. It is also providing us with new inspiration to fulfill our duties as citizens in the efforts being made to achieve the goal of complete independence.
A lot of effort has been made in the country. As a result, 250 million people have risen above the poverty line. Today, the country is moving forward. On this occasion, he extended his heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to the people of the state, saying that to maintain independence, not just one group, caste, or sect, but every citizen of the country must make collective efforts.
