India reaffirms Arunachal as axiomatic, integral territory

New Delhi, August 11: The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has described Arunachal Pradesh as an inseparable and inseparable part of India, calling it an axiomatic and undisputed reality. This statement comes in response to China’s objection to India’s recent move to standardize the names of 27 places in Arunachal Pradesh on official maps of the Survey of India.

“Arunachal Pradesh is an inseparable and inseparable part of India, and this is a fact that is axiomatic. At the same time, I would like to underline that no one can change this indisputable reality,” Foreign Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said at a press conference on Tuesday.

It is noteworthy that China considers Arunachal Pradesh to be a part of South Tibet or ‘Zangnan’. It has been periodically releasing lists of place names there since 2017. India has consistently rejected these claims and nomenclatures, calling them attempts to distort the actual situation. India has now taken steps to standardize them.
