Lucknow clay dispute turns violent: Shots fired, two detained

Lucknow, June 17: The Lucknow police has registered a case based on a family complaint regarding firing and vandalism in the Sushant Golf City police station area. Two accused have been detained and are being questioned, police reported. 

The Sushant Golf City police station in-charge Rajiv Ranjan Upadhyay stated that on Tuesday, rival Abhishek Sharma, along with some other members, pelted stones and fired at Vivek Singh’s house in Barauna village. Based on the complaint filed by Vivek Singh, a case has been registered against Abhishek Sharma, Durgesh Kumar, and other unidentified individuals. Investigation revealed that both parties are involved in clay work at a brick kiln and the dispute was over this work.

SHO further told that the police recovered spent cartridge shells from the scene. Police have detained Abhishek, a resident of village Sevai, and Durgesh, a resident of village Sabhakheda, and are interrogating them. The four-wheeler used in the incident has been recovered. Police teams have been deployed to identify and arrest other unknown suspects in this case.
