Main accused in Sandeep Singh murder gunned down by UP STF

Lucknow, June 27: The prime accused shooter in the murder of property dealer Sandeep Singh in Lucknow was killed in an encounter by a joint team of the Special Task Force (STF) and Lucknow Police on Saturday morning. He carried a reward of one lakh rupees on his head.

The STF received tip-off from an informant that Sanjay alias Sanjeev, the main accused in Sandeep Singh’s murder case, was on Canal Road intending to commit a crime. Acting on this information, the UP STF Additional Superintendent of Police Deepak Singh and his team surrounded the criminal, who opened fire on them with a carbine. In retaliation, the team fired back, injuring him and causing him to fall to the ground. Police took him to Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital for treatment, where doctors declared him dead.

The ASP stated that Sanjeev, the criminal killed in the encounter, was a resident of Ambedkar Nagar. He is a notorious criminal with cases registered against him in several districts, including Lucknow, Ayodhya, Ambedkar, and Basti. It has also been revealed that the criminal worked for the Dilip Verma and Khan Mubarak gangs. The Lucknow Police Commissionerate had announced a reward of one lakh rupees for his arrest.

It is noteworthy that property dealer Sandeep Singh was originally from Takari village in Jaunpur. In 2008, Sandeep lived in Lucknow with his father and worked in the property business. On May 27, Sandeep was shot dead by criminals near his office in the PGI police station area. Sanjeev’s name had surfaced in the case, after which the team had been searching for him.
