Missing UP girl found in Maharashtra; Main accused arrested
Fatehpur, September 17: The Fatehpur police on Thursday recovered a 17‑year‑old girl from Maharashtra who had been missing for two months from a village under Kishanpur police station in Uttar Pradesh’s Fatehpur district, and arrested the main accused, Anoop Singh of Byoti village, the police reported.
The station house officer (SHO) Manish Singh stated that the accused, Anoop Singh, had lured the minor girl and taken her first to Gujarat and later to Maharashtra. Based on a complaint from the minor’s family, a kidnapping case was registered against Anoop Singh and two of his accomplices. Since the case was registered, police have been searching for the accused.
SHO further stated that Aa police team reached Maharashtra and recovered the minor girl. The main accused, Anoop Singh, has been arrested. After questioning the minor, she was sent for a statement recording and medical examination.
The police station in-charge said that necessary legal action is being taken by presenting the accused in the court in the above case.
