Centre accepts resignation of Odisha cadre IPS Jagmohan Meena
Bhubaneswar, September 17 : The Central Government has accepted the resignation of Jagmohan Meena, a 2013 batch IPS officer of the Odisha cadre. Meena was serving as Deputy Commissioner of Police, Bhubaneswar.
According to a notification issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs, the President has accepted the resignation of Jagmohan Meena, IPS (OD:2013), from the Indian Police Service, with effect from September 11, 2026.
Meena had resigned from service in July this year, citing personal reasons. Following this, the Odisha Government forwarded his resignation to the Central Government.
After submitting his resignation, Meena stated that he had decided to leave the service after discussions with family and friends. He also expressed his gratitude to the Government and the people of Odisha for the opportunity to serve in various capacities.
He had said, “I consider myself fortunate to have had the opportunity to serve in various positions in Odisha. I express my gratitude to the government and the people of Odisha for this opportunity. The people of Odisha are good, and I enjoyed working with them. May Lord Jagannath’s blessings be upon me.”
Jagmohan Meena, a 2013-batch IPS officer, took charge as the DCP of Bhubaneswar on February 28, 2025. Before his appointment in the capital, he had served as the DCP of Cuttack. He also held the position of Superintendent of Police in Angul and Ganjam districts.
