NIA action: Danihama village house linked to Lashkar‑e‑Taiba conspiracy confiscated

Srinagar, October 12: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has seized the residential property of Ghulam Mohammad Mir alias Mama Gas in Khasra No. 315, Danihama village, Hazratbal district, Srinagar.

According to the NIA, the property pertains to case RC-02/2026/NIA/Jammu and relates to a cross-border terrorist conspiracy linked to the banned terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeTT) and is involved in the property used for sheltering terrorists. The property has been seized under Section 25 of the Urban Encroachment Act, 1967, after obtaining the necessary prior approval of the Director General of NIA.

The statement said that the investigation has established a direct link between the property and a terrorist conspiracy, as the premises were allegedly being used to shelter Pakistani terrorists and conceal incriminating material related to the terror network. The case, originally registered as FIR No. 24/2026 at the Zakora police station in Srinagar on March 31, was later taken over and re-registered by the National Security Agency (NIA).

The investigation has uncovered a network of local overground workers (OGWs) who were allegedly working in coordination with Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba operatives and providing infiltration, movement, shelter, and logistical support to Pakistani terrorists to carry out attacks on government installations, security forces, and civilians.

During a search operation at the residential compound of Ghulam Mohammad Mir in Danihama, Hazratbal district, Srinagar, two suspected Pakistani terrorists, Abu Huraira and Khubaib, allegedly associated with Lashkar-e-Taiba, were identified. Explosive materials, digital devices, and other incriminating material were also recovered from the premises. The investigation also revealed that the accused knowingly provided their residential premises as a safe haven for terrorists and allowed the property to be used to facilitate their activities.

The statement further said that the investigation is ongoing to identify and expose the entire terrorist support network, including individuals linked to other underground terrorist organizations (OGWs), facilitators, and handlers based in Pakistan.
