No Excuses: Modi tells secretaries to act decisively for developed India
New Delhi, July 28: In the second high-level meeting with Central Government Secretaries on Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized the need for better coordination among ministries, development of indigenous technology in key sectors, energy self-reliance, strengthening cyber security, and effectively countering misinformation related to strategic areas to rapidly achieve the goal of a developed India.
He said that the government should always be young, dynamic, and work in accordance with future needs. In the meeting at his residence, the Prime Minister discussed the functioning of the ministries related to Finance and Economy, Commerce and Industry, and Technology and the strategy to advance the goal of a developed India.
The Prime Minister said that all ministries and departments should work with a team spirit. He said that better coordination among departments will ensure the benefits of schemes reach the people quickly and effectively.
He said that every policy and decision of the government should be made keeping the common citizen in mind. The interests of the people and their expectations should be the basis of governance.
The Prime Minister said that while the country’s infrastructure is rapidly developing, it is also essential to promote indigenous technology. He emphasized the need to enhance the country’s technological capabilities in key sectors.
He stated that becoming self-reliant in the energy sector is essential for national security, economic strength, and the well-being of the people. To achieve this, focus must be placed on innovation, new energy sources, and capacity enhancement.
The Prime Minister emphasized that periodic reforms are essential for a good system. He emphasized the need for continuous improvement in processes, work culture, and institutional capacity.
He emphasized that cybersecurity must be strengthened with the increasing use of digital technology. He called on youth, startups, and innovative entrepreneurs to come forward in the field of cybersecurity.
The Prime Minister also emphasized that accurate information about major government initiatives in strategic sectors should reach the public in a timely manner to effectively counter misinformation and rumors.
He emphasized that new educational curricula should be developed in collaboration with industry, tailored to the needs of future industries. He said that the government must always work with new thinking and constantly adapt to changing challenges.
Secretaries from various ministries shared their views on progress in their respective areas, priorities, new possibilities, and challenges faced in their work. The Cabinet Secretary, Secretaries from various ministries, senior officials from the Prime Minister’s Office, and other officials were also present.
After the meeting, Prime Minister Modi said on the social media platform ‘X’ that key areas such as finance and economy, commerce and industry, and technology were discussed. He stressed the need for citizen-centric governance, improved infrastructure, the development of indigenous technology, and greater youth participation.
