
UP police nabs Chinese national living illegally in India
Noida, July 28: Based on a tip-off, the Beta-2 police station in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, arrested a Chinese citizen last night. He was living illegally in India. Intelligence agencies are interrogating the arrested accused.
Inspector Vinod Kumar, in-charge of Beta-2 police station, said that based on a tip-off, the police station arrested a Chinese citizen, Song Xiaomei, from near NRI City last night. He is about 38 years old. He said that he was living in Jaypee Green Society in Greater Noida.
He said that after investigation, it was found that he had come to India on a valid visa for one year from June 26, 2019 to June 25, 2020. After the visa expired, he started living in India illegally. He fraudulently obtained a fake Aadhaar card in the Republic of India after his visa expired. Using the Aadhaar card, he obtained a PAN card and other documents and began living in Jaypee Green Society, Greater Noida.
Investigations have also revealed that he married a woman from the northeastern state of Manipur. He has a three-year-old daughter and runs a construction company in his wife’s name. Intelligence agencies are intensively interrogating the arrested accused. Police are trying to determine whether he was engaging in espionage while living in India.
