PDA is about ‘Prem, Daya aur Apnapan’, BJP’s attempts to change its meaning expose weakness, says Akhilesh Yadav

Lucknow, August 22 (HS). Samajwadi Party (SP) national president and former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has sharply reacted to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s statement that the ‘P’ in PDA stands for Pakistan. Akhilesh Yadav said that how will monochromatic people understand the multi-colored PDA. He said that the BJP is panicked and therefore is trying to change the definition of the ‘P’ in PDA. Only socialist thinking can guide our society.

Akhilesh Yadav was addressing journalists at the party headquarters in the capital Lucknow on Saturday. He said, “The more their suffering increases, the stronger the PDA will become.” Explaining the new meaning of PDA, he said that its true meaning is love, compassion, and belonging ( Prem, Daya aur Apnapan). Our goal is to form a government with socialist ideology and the PDA movement to establish social justice.

The SP president said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) considers the misuse of power its right. Corruption and the plunder of government budgets have become its main agenda. Akhilesh Yadav alleged that the PDA community is being oppressed and fake encounters are being carried out under the BJP government. He said that criminals and corrupt people are receiving protection from the government. He also raised questions about law and order.

Akhilesh Yadav said that only the Samajwadi Party has the power to thwart the BJP’s conspiracies. He said that the BJP is trying to defame the Samajwadi Party. Responding to a question, Akhilesh Yadav said that the Samajwadi Party never breaks alliances; when it takes the party along, it stands by them. BJP MLAs are stopped when they go to temples. We would rather say that all the BJP’s allies should be given as many seats as possible.

He also mentioned the flood and waterlogging situation in Prayagraj and accused the government of failing to address the waterlogging problem in the city despite spending huge amounts of money in the name of development. Akhilesh said that the public is now fed up with the BJP government and is ready for change in the upcoming assembly elections.

Earlier, during a program organized by an organization at the party headquarters, Uday Pratap Singh was honored as a Hindi literary poet. During this, SP President Akhilesh Yadav also released a book. MP Dimple Yadav, State President Shyam Lal Pal along with party leaders and workers were present in the program.
