Political milestone in Uttar Pradesh as Yogi proclaims third consecutive term for ruling government
Lucknow, July 15: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that the state government has succeeded in bringing about major changes in law and order, economy, agriculture, investment, and infrastructure in nine years. Before 2017, Uttar Pradesh was grappling with a crisis of identity, security, and development, but in the last nine years, the state has established a strong identity among the leading economies of the country.
He said that for the first time in Uttar Pradesh, a government will be repeated for a third consecutive term. This time, the NDA government will score a hat-trick in Uttar Pradesh. The Chief Minister was addressing a special conclave of a private news channel in Lucknow on Wednesday.
Chief Minister Yogi said that the performance and report card of the last nine years are before the public. The public is ready to decide. The working methods of the Samajwadi Party and other governments from 2003 to 2017 are also evident to all. We worked to advance a developed India under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Modi. We have benefited from the double-engine government. Uttar Pradesh has succeeded in this. Only the double-engine BJP government can fulfill the vision of a developed Uttar Pradesh. Last year, a record was broken, and this time another one is about to be broken. For the first time in Uttar Pradesh, a government will be repeated for a third consecutive term. There should be no doubt that the BJP-led NDA government will score a hat-trick in Uttar Pradesh this time.
Yogi said that if the SP had been the model of development during the SP government, Uttar Pradesh would have been in ruins long ago. The Saifai family was ruining Uttar Pradesh. The JPNIC building is a prime example of this. The SP prepared a DPR worth 200 crore rupees for the construction of JPNIC, but even after spending 800 crore rupees, it remains incomplete. A DPR worth ₹166 crore was prepared for the Gomti Riverfront, considered the original Ganga, but ₹1,400 crore was spent. Furthermore, the work remains incomplete. The SP government was simply looting the government treasury.
He stated that the then Chief Minister laid the foundation stone for the Purvanchal Expressway in December 2016. Subsequently, the cost was set at ₹15,200 crore. After the government changed and it was reviewed in May 2017, it was discovered that the land was non-existent. Subsequently, major irregularities were discovered, leading to the cancellation of the tender. It took two years to acquire the land. In 2018, we acquired 90 percent of the land. Subsequently, the ₹15,200 crore tender was reduced to a mere ₹11,800 crore. In the same budget, a better Purvanchal Expressway was constructed than under the SP government.
The Chief Minister also stated that corruption was rampant in Uttar Pradesh’s excise policy. Previously, the excise duty amounted to only ₹12,000 crore. It was difficult for our government, but we changed the policy. Today, the government is receiving five times more—63,000 crore rupees—in excise duty.
Chief Minister said that before 2017, when security was lacking in Uttar Pradesh, curfews would be imposed before festivals and riots would break out. Today, festivals and celebrations of every community are being celebrated peacefully. Those who opened fire on Ram devotees in Ayodhya are now talking about faith. They also conducted namaz on the steps of the sacred Hanumangarhi. They were filing affidavits in the Supreme Court claiming that Lord Shri Ram and Lord Shri Krishna never existed. They also engaged their own lawyers in opposing the Ram Temple. Those who looted the nation’s treasury and created an identity crisis are now seeing the theft in Ayodhya but not their own.
Yogi said that the Ayodhya incident certainly hurts all Ram devotees. It is an independent trust, in which the government has no right to interfere. At the Trust’s request, the state government formed an SIT. As soon as the SIT report was received, the Trust initiated action, arresting those caught stealing and their associates. Two resignations were made on moral grounds, but using them to defame Ayodhya, the birthplace of Shri Ram, or attack Hindu faith is unjustified. When these centers of faith in Uttar Pradesh are becoming models for the country and Uttar Pradesh is progressing in its identity, the Samajwadi Party may be pained. These centers of faith have boosted the economy. This has also improved the financial condition of flower sellers, rickshaw pullers, hotel and taxi operators. During the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj, a sailor earned 30 crore rupees, but this does not please them.
Similarly, while listing his government’s achievements, the Chief Minister said that only two families have patented prosperity in their names. They cannot understand the suffering of the poor. Where both princes were born, they were accustomed to eating with a silver spoon and waking up late. They do not know the pain of heat and rain. Both have traveled to Australia to enjoy the FIFA Cup and the US on tourist visas. Whose money is this? Here, they work to divide society, but the public knows about all their misdeeds.
