
Pulwama attack mastermind Hamza Burhan alias ‘Doctor’ killed in Muzaffarabad (PoK)
Hamza Burhan, the mastermind of the Pulwama terror attack, was killed in an attack by unidentified gunmen in Muzaffarabad, Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). He was hit by multiple bullets. After the attack, his comrades immediately rushed him to a nearby hospital, but doctors declared him dead.
According to foreign media reports, 27-year-old Hamza Burhan was associated with the Al-Badr, a terrorist organization banned in India. His full name was Arjumand Gulzar Dar, and he was also known as ‘Doctor’ in his circle. Born in Kharbatpora village in the Ratnipora area of Pulwama, Hamza had gone to Pakistan in 2017 on the pretext of pursuing higher education. He later joined the banned terrorist organization Al-Badr and eventually rose to the rank of commander.
He was involved in numerous terrorist attacks in the Kashmir Valley. Hamza was one of the masterminds of the Pulwama terror attack on February 14, 2019. He was killed by unidentified gunmen in Muzaffarabad, Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. The attackers opened fire outside the AIIMS College in Muzaffarabad, killing him.
It is noteworthy that with Hamza’s assistance, terrorists carried out a suicide attack on a CRPF convoy on the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway in Lethapora, Pulwama, killing 40 CRPF personnel. Following this incident, tensions between Pakistan and India escalated, with India carrying out attacks on several terrorist bases in Pakistan.
