Congress driving nation toward violence and anarchy: Rajnath Singh

Lucknow, October 16: The Defense Minister Rajnath Singh accused the Congress of creating an atmosphere of violence and anarchy in the country and said that the opposition party wants to take revenge on the country for its political defeat.

He said that through slogans like ‘Regime Change’ and ‘Resistance’, an attempt is being made to weaken the democratic system. Rajnath Singh was addressing a press conference held at the state BJP headquarters on Friday, the second day of his visit to his parliamentary constituency Lucknow.

He said that the Congress, which claims to be the political successor of Mahatma Gandhi, has lost the moral basis for using the name ‘Gandhi’ by adopting the politics of violence and anarchy. He alleged that the Congress party is dreaming of creating Bangladesh-like conditions in India.

Referring to the Congress party’s 37-year absence from power in Uttar Pradesh, he said the public understands whether the party’s political situation is due to alleged vote-stealing allegations or its failures in its working style and performance.

Referring to Mahatma Gandhi’s Non-Cooperation Movement, Rajnath Singh said that Gandhi withdrew the movement after the violent Chauri Chaura incident. He said that statements like “change of power,” “resistance,” and “the solution must be found through the streets, not Parliament,” promote anarchy rather than political solutions. According to him, such politics is a condemnable attempt to hinder India’s development journey.

Singh said that India’s progress and growing global influence could make many powers uncomfortable. He alleged that some political parties, facing repeated electoral defeats, are knowingly or unknowingly playing into the hands of such forces.

Referring to India’s achievements in defense production, he said the country is rapidly progressing towards self-reliance. India is now strengthening its identity as a defense exporter. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India’s reputation, reputation, and credibility have increased internationally.

Rajnath Singh stated that his party has never doubted the electoral system or attempted to defame constitutional institutions. He stated that it is the responsibility of all political parties to respect the country’s people, the Constitution, and constitutional institutions. He said, “India’s future is our shared responsibility. We must choose the path of dialogue and nation-building, not conflict.”

Taking aim at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, the Defense Minister said that instead of engaging in “politics of disruption” in the name of protecting democracy, he should respect public opinion and introspect on his political role. He said that democratic institutions cannot be sacrificed for political interests. The country’s development journey cannot be hindered through false outrage, denigrating institutions, and political opportunism. Democracy is not a license to spread anarchy or damage the credibility of constitutional institutions.

Rajnath Singh said that the use of terms like “change of power” shows that the Congress party’s fight is not for reforms, Special Intensive Review (SIR), Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, or a bright future for the youth. He alleged that its aim is to gain power by creating chaos in the country. He said that the opposition’s agenda is clear from its open talk of toppling the government. According to him, weakening democratic institutions and creating instability in the country should not be the objective of any political party.

The Defense Minister alleged that the Congress and its political allies are using the energy of youth for political conflict rather than constructive work and nation-building. He said that it is important to avoid attempts to make youth pawns in the politics of anarchy.

Rajnath Singh stressed that political differences should be resolved through dialogue, facts, and constitutional processes, so that the country’s democratic system and development journey remain strong.

Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak, BJP State President Pankaj Chaudhary, and other party leaders were present at the press conference.
