
‘Raja Shivaji’ & ‘Bhoot Bangla’ dominate box office, collections at ₹44.40 cr & ₹146.50 cr, Amir Khan’s ‘Ek Din’ fails to fetch moviegoers
The historical drama based on the valour of the Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj “Raja Shivaji,” starring and directed by Riteish Deshmukh, is continuing its strong run at the box office. Released on May 1, the film has received a positive response from audiences in both Hindi and Marathi languages. The film’s earnings have remained steady throughout the business days, and it is rapidly inching towards the ₹50 crore club, while other films released alongside it have underperformed.
According to reports, “Raja Shivaji” collected ₹4.90 crore on its fifth day of release, including ₹1.55 crore from the Hindi version and ₹3.35 crore from the Marathi version. This brings the film’s total domestic collection to ₹44.40 crore. The period drama also stars Genelia D’Souza, Sanjay Dutt, Vidya Balan, Abhishek Bachchan, and Bhagyashree in pivotal roles.
On the other hand, Sai Pallavi and Junaid Khan’s film “Ek Din” failed to live up to expectations at the box office. The film earned only ₹2.8 million on its fifth day, bringing its total collection to ₹3.51 crore. Akshay Kumar’s “Bhoot Bangla” also continued its earnings, collecting ₹2.25 crore on its 19th day of release, taking its total to ₹146.50 crore.
