WB chief secretary meets Governor after notification of new government formation

Kolkata, May 6: Following the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) landslide victory in the West Bengal Assembly elections, the administrative activities in the state have intensified. In this regard, Chief Secretary Dushyant Nariala met Governor Ravindra Narayan Ravi for the second time at Raj Bhavan on Wednesday afternoon.

According to sources, Dushyant Nariala was appointed Chief Secretary after the Election Commission’s directives, replacing Nandini Chakraborty. Immediately after the Chief Electoral Officer’s meeting concluded on Wednesday, the Chief Secretary arrived at Raj Bhavan with relevant files and held a lengthy discussion with the Governor.

This meeting is considered significant following the Election Commission’s official announcement of the beginning of the new government formation process.

A large crowd of media gathered at the Raj Bhavan’s North Gate. A heavy police force and plainclothes intelligence personnel were deployed for security.

Overall, following the Election Commission’s notification, a series of meetings have been underway at Raj Bhavan, Nabanna, and the Election Commission office. Preparations for government formation now appear to be reaching their final stages.
