Severe heatwave grips Uttar Pradesh, IMD warns of thunderstorms in 24 districts
Lucknow, May 24: The Meteorological department issued a heatwave alert in 54 districts of the state, and a red alert for 10 of these districts. A warning of thunderstorms and rain has also been issued in several districts. The situation is less crowded than usual on the roads, and most of the time, a deserted atmosphere prevails.
The Meteorological Department has predicted slight fluctuations in temperatures in the coming days.

According to the weatherman, a western disturbance is active in central Assam, due to which light rain or drizzle may be recorded in some districts adjacent to Delhi. The Meteorological Department has issued a heat wave alert in 54 districts of the state, with 10 of these districts under a red alert. Senior Meteorological Department scientist Atul Kumar Singh said that the weather will continue to fluctuate for the time being.
Red alert in 10 districts:
Banda, Chitrakoot, Kaushambi, Prayagraj, Fatehpur, Pratapgarh, Mirzapur, Chandauli, Varanasi, Sant Ravi Das Nagar and surrounding areas.
Orange alert in 23 districts
: Sonbhadra, Jaunpur, Ghazipur, Kannauj, Kanpur Dehat, Kanpur Nagar, Unnao, Rae Bareli, Amethi, Sultanpur, Mathura, Hathras, Etah, Agra, Firozabad, Mainpuri, Etawah, Auraiya, Jalaun, Hamirpur, Mahoba, Jhansi, Lalitpur and surrounding areas.
Yellow alert in 21 districts:
Azamgarh, Mau, Ballia, Sitapur, Hardoi, Farrukhabad, Lucknow, Barabanki, Ayodhya, Ambedkar Nagar, Saharanpur, Shamli, Muzaffarnagar, Baghpat, Meerut, Ghaziabad, Hapur, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Bulandshahr, Aligarh, Kasganj and surrounding areas.
