UP court delivers death verdict in shocking child murder case
Rati, who lives under the Aarav police station area, was married to Sumit Kumar, a resident of Badaun, in the year 2024. After a dispute with her husband, she had come to her parents’ house. On May 30, Rati was visiting a relative in Yadav Colony, under the jurisdiction of the Shikohabad police station, with her one-and-a-half-year-old son, Aarav, when Viraj, alias Jitendra Pathak, arrived. Viraj took Aarav with him on the pretext of buying him a toffee. On the way, he brutally murdered the innocent child by throwing him to the ground. After the murder, he abandoned the body and fled. The accused had been pressuring his sister-in-law, Rati, to marry him. This led to the murder of her innocent son. Police registered a case and arrested the accused, Viraj alias Jitendra, son of Vijendra Pathak, resident of Shekhupur, Civil Lines police station, Badaun district, after he was shot in both legs in an encounter that night. Following the investigation, the police filed a charge sheet in court within just six days.
The case was heard in the court of District and Sessions Judge Dr Babbu Sarang. District Government Advocate Rajiv Priyadarshi, representing the prosecution, stated that 13 witnesses testified in court. Along with CCTV footage, several important evidences were also presented in the court. On Thursday, the court had declared the accused murderer Viraj alias Jitendra guilty. District Government Advocate Rajiv Priyadarshi said that on Friday, the court has sentenced the accused Viraj alias Jitendra Pathak to death (hanging).

The accused Viraj alias Jitendra Pathak had brutally murdered the innocent child Aarav. The accused committed the crime in just 27 seconds. He brutally threw the innocent child on the ground 8 times continuously, due to which he died, and then fled after throwing the body at the door of the house. CCTV footage of this incident went viral on social media.
