🚨 Pregnant woman’s tragic death sparks action: Six cops suspended in midnight order in Firozabad
Firozabad, September 15: The Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Aditya Langhe, taking cognizance of the death of a pregnant woman after childbirth in the Shikohabad police station area of Firozabad district and the serious allegations against the police, late last night suspended six officers, including two sub‑inspectors, on charges of negligence.
According to the police, suspended officers include sub-inspectors Dharampal Singh and Satyapal Singh, head constables Mohan Singh and Arvind Kumar, and constables Bhavatosh Kumar and Kuldeep Kumar. All of them were accused of serious charges, following which the suspension was taken. The CO has been appointed to investigate the allegations and the incident.
It is noteworthy that on Sunday night, Shikohabad police brought Gaurav, a resident of Labhaua village, to the police station for questioning on charges of theft. It is alleged that Anjali (28), the pregnant wife, pleaded with sub-inspector Dharampal Singh not to take her husband with her, but he refused.
According to family members, Gaurav was taken away by the police, after which Anjali’s health deteriorated. She was admitted to a hospital in Shikohabad, where she gave birth to a son on Monday. After the birth, Anjali’s condition worsened and she was taken to a private hospital in Firozabad, where doctors declared her dead.
Family members alleged that after learning of Anjali’s death, the police released Gaurav. Following Anjali’s death, villagers created a ruckus at the police station and questioned the police’s actions. The matter escalated. Following the family’s complaint, the SSP took cognizance of the matter and took action.
