
UP Police Recruitment Exam: 25% students skip exam on first day, two held
Lucknow, June 08: The first day’s written examination for the Uttar Pradesh Police Constable (Constable) Civil Police Direct Recruitment 2025 concluded in both shifts. 75.15% of candidates appeared in both shifts on the first day, while approximately 25% of candidates skipped the exam.
Meanwhile, FIRs were filed at several locations for those spreading rumors of paper leaks on social media and for cheating, and some suspected candidates were arrested. Five constables have been suspended after a mobile phone was found in a candidate’s possession.
DG SB Shiradkar, Chairman of the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board, stated that the first day’s written examination was conducted peacefully and systematically in two shifts at 1,183 examination centers across all 75 districts. A total of 9,62,832 candidates were called to appear for the exam in both shifts, out of which approximately 7,23,540 (75.15 percent) appeared for the exam.
Case filed against five people, arrests made
The board also informed that cases have been filed against five people so far. These FIRs have been filed against candidates and unruly elements who indulged in criminal activities on social media platforms and at examination centers.
He apprised that Sachin, a resident of Amroha, who had come to the examination center of Sarvodaya Inter College in Pilkhuwa area of Hapur district, was found with a mobile phone. An FIR was filed in this matter at Pilkhuwa police station and he was arrested. There is also talk of suspending five constables for negligence. At the examination center Neena Thapa Inter College in Gorakhpur, candidate Ram Prakash Kumar from Bihar was arrested for using a mobile phone in the examination hall. An FIR has also been filed against him. In Azamgarh, an FIR has been filed against Instagram user Ashutosh Kumar Maurya at Bilariaganj police station, and he has been taken into custody and legal action is being taken. Earlier, a case was filed against the Telegram channel UPP Exam Paper at Hussainganj police station in Lucknow on Saturday.
