SP vows ₹40,000 annual aid for women if voted to power
Lucknow, August 26: The Samajwadi Party (SP) national president and former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Wednesday announced the launch of the ‘Stri Samman Samriddhi Yojana’ for the economic empowerment of women.
He said that the progress of the country and society is incomplete without the progress of half the population, i.e. women. In the future, if the Samajwadi Party forms the government, women will be given 40 thousand rupees every year under this scheme. Provision will also be made to increase this amount in the future.
Akhilesh Yadav was addressing journalists at the party headquarters in the capital Lucknow. He said that this scheme is part of the resolution of ‘complete freedom for half the population’. He said that many important decisions have been taken under the Samajwadi Party governments to ensure the respect, safety, and economic empowerment of women, and concrete steps will continue to be taken to empower women to become self-reliant.
Akhilesh Yadav said that many of the students who were given laptops during the Samajwadi Party government would still be using them today. He said that if the Samajwadi Party forms the government, girls who pass intermediate level will also be given laptops, giving them the opportunity to pursue higher education and technical fields.
He targeted the BJP, saying that for them, women have become a mere slogan. The Women’s Reservation Act has been passed, but its implementation is being delayed. He demanded that women’s reservation should be implemented in the next elections.
SP President Akhilesh Yadav attacked the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government regarding the safety of women and daughters in the state. He said that statistics show that daughters are facing the most injustice in Uttar Pradesh. Referring to the Khushi Dubey case, he accused the government of injustice and disrespect towards women.
He said that during the fire incident in Lucknow, the Chief Minister was saying in front of his mother that he was not in the mood to listen to speeches. The case of Khushi Dubey being sent to jail reflects the government’s attitude towards women.
Akhilesh Yadav said that the person in the society who is suffering, sad and insulted is the PDA. He said that the Samajwadi Party will strongly raise the voice of all such sections. He said that in the upcoming assembly elections, the Samajwadi Party will take forward its policies and programs keeping the interests of women, youth, farmers and the deprived sections at the center.
The SP president said that if the Samajwadi Party forms the government, the 26,000 primary schools closed in the state will be reopened. He also claimed to strengthen the education system and provide better opportunities to children.
SP MP Dimple Yadav also said about the scheme that a provision will be made to give Rs 40,000 annually to women. Its objective is to make women financially strong and move them towards self-reliance. The party is likely to release detailed information about the eligibility, application process and other conditions of the scheme in the future.
