Noida police guns down child rapist-murderer, ending reign of terror across districts
Noida, August 29: While being taken to recover the weapon used in the kidnapping and rape of a six‑year‑old girl from the Ecotech‑3 area, the accused opened fire on police, injuring a constable; officers retaliated, fatally wounding the man, who was declared dead at the district hospital.
The deputy commissioner of police (DCP) Greater Noida, Shailendra Kumar Singh, said on Saturday that on the night of August 28, a man informed the Ecotech-3 police station that his six-year-old daughter was missing from Haldwani village.
He said that based on the information, the police registered a case and initiated action. Five police teams were deployed to search for the girl. He stated that through CCTV footage and other sources, police teams learned that a man named Balraj (32) had kidnapped the girl. He raped her and then stuffed her body into a sack and discarded it.
He stated that a post-mortem examination was conducted by a panel of doctors.
The post-mortem report confirmed that he had raped the girl. He stated that police took the accused into custody on Saturday. During interrogation, the accused confessed to possessing an illegal pistol. Police took him to recover the pistol. He stated that the accused retrieved the pistol from a hidden location and suddenly opened fire on the police party, intending to kill them. A constable was struck by the bullet fired by the criminal. In retaliation, the police also returned fire. Balraj was struck by the bullet. He was admitted to the Noida District Hospital in critical condition for treatment, where a doctor declared him dead.
He stated that the police are taking further legal action in the case.
The DCP apprised that during the investigation, the police discovered that this criminal was notorious for raping and murdering innocent children. He had previously been convicted of raping and murdering an innocent girl in Loni, Ghaziabad. He also raped and murdered an innocent child in the Surajpur police station area.
He added that several cases of rape and murder of innocent children have been registered against him.
Meanwhile, villagers say that the accused was a monster. In addition to raping innocent children, he also committed unnatural sex with animals. The villagers have breathed a sigh of relief after the alleged criminal was killed.
