‘Hanuman Ansh’ emerges as sleeper hit at box office

The devotional film ‘Hanuman Ansh,’ directed by Vishal Chaturvedi, has achieved significant success, making a strong comeback at the box office. Inspired by the life of Neem Karoli Baba, the film released in theaters on August 7 and initially enjoyed a slow start. The film grossed just ₹10 lakh on its first day, but its earnings steadily increased following positive audience response through social media and word of mouth. In 24 days, the film has collected ₹47.33 crore in India.

The biggest jump in earnings was seen on the 24th day. According to reports, ‘Hanuman Ansh’ earned a record ₹12.75 crore from over 5,000 shows. In its first week of release, the film grossed only ₹1.08 crore, while in the second week, its earnings increased by only around ₹40 lakh. However, the positive audience response was clearly visible at the box office in the third week, and the film’s earnings surpassed ₹10 crore (approximately $10 million). The film’s momentum continued into the fourth week.

Made on a meager budget of approximately ₹2 crore (approximately $20 million), “Hanuman Ansh” is now very close to the ₹50 crore mark. Its current earnings have given its producers a return of more than 20 times their cost. Despite a slow start, audience response and positive feedback transformed the film’s fortunes.

The success of “Hanuman Ansh” once again proves that a story with a strong theme and audience connection can achieve significant box office success, even on a low budget.
