5 booked under anti-cow slaughter act in UP

Gonda, 24 July: A case has been lodged under the Prevention of Cow Slaughter Act against five people in the Colonelganj police station area of the Gonda district, according to a police officer on Sunday.

A calf tethered at the door of Pushpa Devi, a resident of Barbatpur village in the police station area, went missing approximately a month ago, according to Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Shivraj. It was found that the calf was abducted with the help of certain Alipur village residents. The woman had gone to the local police station to report the theft and killing of her calf.

According to him, a case has been filed under the Prevention of Cow Slaughter Act against Jameel and Javed of Barbatpur village, as well as Ashiq Ali, and Zubair, based on her allegation. The police are looking into the incident, according to the ASP.
