Balcony collapse during Muharram procession in Lucknow kills two children, injures eight
ACP BKT Vikas Kumar Pandey said that beverages were being distributed to people from the balcony of a house in Mohalla Pakhariya, Mohana, under the jurisdiction of the Itaunja police station. Suddenly, the balcony collapsed, injuring 10 people. Local police immediately arrived at the scene and all the injured were taken to the 100-bed Joint Hospital, BKT, for treatment.
Doctors declared two children, Ali (12) and Arman (12), dead during treatment. Among the injured, Ajmal (7), Jian (3), Sharif’s wife Sana, Mohammad Haseeb, and Ziaul were referred to the KGMU Trauma Center due to their critical condition. Two children, Dawood and Abdul Wajood, were discharged. A girl is undergoing treatment at the 100-bed hospital.
Upon receiving information about the incident, senior police officers immediately arrived at the scene and supervised the rescue efforts. Other necessary action is underway. Peace and law and order are completely normal.
