CM Yogi launches UP police song, stresses safe environment for state’s progress
Lucknow, August 14: At the launch of the Uttar Pradesh Police song “Khaki Ka Sitara”, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said security is the foundation of good governance, stressing that a safe environment has reshaped the state’s identity over the past nine years, adding that bravery brings compassion while cowardice breeds looting, insecurity, and anarchy.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said at an event held at Lok Bhavan on Friday that terrorism, riots, and Naxalism are signs of cowardice because those who cannot fight from the front attack from behind. The government has a zero-tolerance policy towards crime and criminals, and will do whatever is necessary to achieve this. The UP Police has set many models in achieving these goals. In the last nine years, the state has been riot-free and curfew-free.
Chief Minister Yogi, while praising the bravery of the police in rescuing 22 children, recalled the incident in Farrukhabad, where 22 children were trapped within a detonator circle. The Chief Minister said that the UP Police demonstrated their capability and courage, rescuing the children safely, and the criminals were killed in an encounter. The Chief Minister said that while monitoring the operation, he was constantly monitoring how it was progressing. Such operations have highlighted the bravery of the police and their commitment to public safety.
Yogi said that there was a time when criminals would overpower the police and the police would retreat. Many people had the misconception that they could overpower the UP Police with their numbers, but now their arrogance has been shattered. The police’s working style and capabilities have changed, and now criminals must understand that no one is above the law. Referring to an incident in Lucknow, where a man attempted to forcibly drag a police officer onto the hood of his car,
CM said that those times have passed. Anyone who dares to do so will face punishment, even if they are the son of a politician or an officer. The law will be void of influence or recognition, and those who dare to do so will have to pay the price.
