Doctors rule out poisoning in Prateek Yadav’s death; Hypertension history noted

Lucknow, May 13: Prateek Yadav, the younger brother of the Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav, passed away on Wednesday morning. Aparna Yadav’s brother Aman Singh Bisht took him to the Civil Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.

According to doctors posted in the emergency at the Civil Hospital, he died before reaching the hospital. Sarvesh Pandey, who went to Pratik’s gym, claimed that Pratik’s health deteriorated around 11 pm. He was brought to the Civil Hospital. When his condition improved, he was taken home. Pratik Yadav was found unconscious in the kitchen on Wednesday morning. He was then taken to the Civil Hospital.

Meanwhile, Civil Hospital Director Dr G.P. Gupta stated that the Civil Hospital has not raised any suspicion of poisoning regarding Pratik Yadav. After confirming his death, those accompanying him placed his body in an ambulance to take it home. After placing the body in the ambulance, his relatives expressed their desire for a post-mortem. By then, all senior officials had been informed. Following this, a Panchnama (inquest report) was prepared and the body was sent to the KGMU for post-mortem.

Dr G.P. Gupta clarified that the Civil Hospital had not raised any suspicion of poisoning.

The KGMU spokesperson Dr K.K. Singh stated that Pratik Yadav’s post-mortem was conducted between 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM. A team of six doctors conducted the post-mortem. The viscera has been preserved.

According to the doctors, Prateek Yadav suffered from high blood pressure and hypertension. He was also receiving treatment at Medanta Hospital.

Dr Ruchita Sharma, Associate Director of Medicine at Medanta Hospital, said, “I was treating him for high blood pressure and hypertension. A few days ago, he was admitted here after suffering a pulmonary embolism.”

Dr Ruchita Sharma explained that this is a condition in which a blood clot travels to the arteries and becomes lodged there. The blockage in his lungs adversely affected his heart function. He came here a few days ago complaining of difficulty breathing and other respiratory problems, and that’s when he was diagnosed with a pulmonary embolism. Pulmonary embolism, by its very nature, is very serious and carries a high risk. He was already taking blood-thinning medications. He was fully aware of his medical conditions and took his blood pressure medication regularly.

The funeral will take place tomorrow

Prateek Yadav’s body has been placed at his residence on Vikramaditya Marg. People from various political parties are arriving to pay their last respects. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, State BJP President Pankaj Chaudhary, BJP State General Secretary for Organization Dharampal, and other leaders have arrived. Pratik Yadav’s last rites will be performed at Pipraghat on Thursday at 12:30 pm.
