
Putin to visit India to participate in BRICS summit in Sep
Moscow, May 19: The Russian President Vladimir Putin will visit India in September. He will participate in the BRICS summit to be held in New Delhi on September 12-13 under the chairmanship of India.
The Russian Embassy in South Africa also reported in a post on X, quoting Kremlin aide Yuri Ushakov, that the Russian President will attend the BRICS summit to be held in New Delhi on September 12-13.
This will be Putin’s second visit to India within a year. Previously, he visited New Delhi in December last year to attend the 23rd India-Russia Annual Summit.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov recently visited India and participated in the meeting of the foreign ministers of the BRICS countries, during which he also met Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The two leaders also discussed regional and global issues, including the situation in Ukraine and West Asia. The two-day meeting of the BRICS Foreign Ministers, held in New Delhi on May 14 and 15, was chaired by External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar.
