
Respect sisters and daughters, or face Yamaraj’s justice, warns CM Yogi
Deoria, May 22: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, while addressing a public meeting in Bhimpur Pokharbhinda of Deoria district on Friday, delivered a strong message regarding women’s safety, law and order, and crime control.
He stated that the state government is fully committed to the safety and respect of sisters and daughters. Those who mistreat or commit crimes against women will not be spared at any cost. He warned from the stage, “Treat your sisters and daughters with respect, or Yamaraj will be waiting at the next intersection.” The venue reverberated with applause and slogans upon the Chief Minister’s statement.
Chief Minister Yogi was addressing the public meeting after inaugurating and laying the foundation stone for 19 projects worth Rs 655 crore. He stated that establishing the rule of law in Uttar Pradesh is the government’s top priority. Strict action is being taken consistently against criminals and mafias.
He noted that previously, the morale of criminals was high in the state. Women felt insecure, but now the situation has completely changed. An atmosphere of security has been created in the state. Criminals are showing a fear of the law.
Chief Minister stated that the government has strengthened women’s safety by implementing measures such as the Anti-Romeo Squad, the Women’s Helpline, the establishment of fast-track courts, and police patrols. He stated that women’s safety will not be compromised, and that the perpetrators will be severely punished.
Appealing to the youth to maintain dignity and values in society, the Chief Minister emphasized that respect for women is a hallmark of Indian culture. Society will only be strong when the female sex is protected and respected.
He directed police and administrative officials to ensure prompt action in cases involving women and speedy justice for victims. The Chief Minister stated that the government is paying equal attention to development, security, and good governance.
During this, the Chief Minister also gifted the district major development projects. The Chief Minister inaugurated eight projects worth Rs 116.54 crore and laid the foundation stone of 11 projects worth Rs 538.91 crore. The most important projects of the programme included Rs 292.07 crore for widening and strengthening work of Deoria-Kasya road, and Rs 74.47 crore for widening and strengthening work of Deoria-Hata road from Chainage 2.00 to 22.00. The Chief Minister performed Bhoomi Pujan and foundation stone laying of both these major road projects.
The Pathardewa Assembly constituency includes eight projects worth a total of ₹475.10 crore. Three projects worth ₹25.86 crore were inaugurated, and the foundation stone for five projects worth ₹449.24 crore was laid. In the Rampur Karkhana Assembly constituency, two projects worth ₹66.55 crore were inaugurated and two projects worth ₹16.39 crore were laid. The Deoria Assembly constituency includes seven projects worth ₹97.41 crore. Three projects worth ₹24.13 crore were inaugurated, and the foundation stone for four projects worth ₹73.28 crore was laid.
A large crowd attended the public meeting. The Chief Minister also mentioned various development schemes and public welfare works and assured the public that crime and anarchy have no place in the state. Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap Shahi, Deoria Sadar MP, local MLAs, public representatives, and administrative officials were present.
