
CM Yogi: “Why should we call Fazil”—town renamed Pavagadh, Kushinagar empowered with ₹424 cr works
Kushinagar, June 2: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath arrived in Kushinagar on Tuesday. He inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for 278 projects worth over Rs 424 crore.
At the event held in Tamkuhi Raj, Kushinagar, he distributed certificates, acceptance letters, and checks to beneficiaries of various schemes and urged them to benefit from government schemes. Announcing the renaming of Fazil Nagar to Pavagadh, he said the renaming proposal has been prepared.
At the ceremony held in Tamkuhi Raj, he said, “This is the land of Lord Buddha and Lord Mahavira. I have come here for the first time and I pay my respects to this land.” He spoke in detail about the jungle raj created by previous governments.
He said that the farmers here were distressed because they worked hard but were not paid for their produce. Furthermore, there were no roads, security, electricity, or hospitals.
He detailed his government’s various welfare schemes, including housing, ration cards, Ayushman cards, and toilets. He added that a proposal has been made to rename Fazil Nagar as Pavagadh. “Why should we call it Fazil Nagar? This is a sacred land, and it’s important to maintain its significance.”
District Minister in-charge Dinesh Pratap Singh, MP Ravi Kishan, MP Shashank Mani Tripathi, MLAs Surendra Kushwaha, Savitri Jaiswal, Durgesh Rai, Vivekanand Pandey, Vinay Prakash Gaud, and UP Agro Vice President Jagdish Mishra, along with a large number of public representatives, were present at the event. A large number of people had come to listen to Chief Minister Yogi, with a majority of them being women and youth.
