Kolkata, June 9: An important administrative meeting of Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari, held at Balaka Manch in Kolaghat, West Bengal on Tuesday, became the center of political discussion when Trinamool Congress MLAs and MPs allegedly associated with the ‘rebel camp’ also attended it.

The meeting, held for the three districts of East Midnapore, West Midnapore, and Jhargram, was attended by a large number of public representatives as well as top administrative and police officials.

Keshpur MLA Shiuli Saha, Midnapore Trinamool MP June Malia, and Ghatal MP Deepak Adhikari (Dev) were also present. It is being reported that all of them have been associated with the ‘rebel camp’ within the party in recent times. According to sources, Dev also joined the program after the Chief Minister arrived at the meeting.

At the administrative level, the District Magistrates, Additional District Magistrates, Sub-Divisional Magistrates, and Block Development Officers of the three districts were present. Superintendents of Police, Additional Superintendents of Police, Sub-Divisional Police Officers, Station House Officers, and other senior police officers also attended. The purpose of the meeting was stated to be to review the progress of development plans, public welfare projects, administrative coordination, and a comprehensive review of the law and order situation.

According to sources, the meeting is expected to discuss in detail the implementation of various government schemes, infrastructure development, public access to services, and the pace of regional development work. Further guidance may also be provided on future strategies and administrative priorities.

This meeting is considered particularly significant in political circles because the presence of public representatives considered to be associated with the opposition camp has sparked new discussions, and various political signals are being drawn from it.

Trinamool MLA Shiuli Saha said she was pleased to be invited to the meeting. She said that, compared to the past, opposition MLAs are now being included in administrative meetings, which is a positive step.

She also said that public representatives are elected by the people and their participation in development-related decisions is essential.
