
Shatabdi Express attacked with stones; RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat among passengers
Firozabad, June 12: An incident of stone pelting occurred on the Lucknow Shatabdi Express near Firozabad railway station in Uttar Pradesh late Thursday evening. The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat was also traveling in the same train. The police investigated the area around the incident until late night and are investigating the matter. Reports of stones being thrown at the Shatabdi Express traveling from Lucknow to Delhi have surfaced.
Some unidentified miscreants targeted the train near Pameshwar Gate between Makkhanpur and Firozabad railway stations late Thursday evening. As soon as the incident came to light, the railway administration and security agencies were alarmed. RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat was also traveling in the same train.
The RSS chief was traveling to Delhi on the Lucknow Shatabdi Express after attending a function in Kanpur. However, the RSS chief is completely safe in the incident. Neither he nor any other passenger was injured.
Upon arrival at Tundla station, RPF Inspector Awadhesh Goswami and his team inspected the coach. The investigation confirmed that only the outer glass was broken, and all passengers were safe. Following the incident, police officials, the LIU, and other agencies began investigating the incident, examining CCTV footage at the scene.
According to railway officials, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat was travelling in E-1 coach, occupying seats number 39 and 40.
The Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Aditya Langhe stated that a stone-throwing incident has occurred. Seven police teams have been formed to investigate the matter. CCTV footage has been reviewed. The case will be investigated and any perpetrators will be arrested.
