Youth murder mystery solved—Five nabbed in Lucknow
Lucknow, August 8: The Lucknow commissionerate police arrested five accused on Saturday in connection with the murder of a youth whose body was found in a vacant plot on August 3 in the BKT police station area.
The Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) North Amit Kumar Anand stated that the body of Anil Kumar, a resident of village Tarhaiya, was found in a vacant plot in front of Amoli Lawn. Upon initial inspection, there were no visible injuries. The family members did not suspect anyone. They stated that the deceased was a heavy drinker. A post-mortem examination was conducted. After the post-mortem report revealed a head injury as the cause of death, the police initiated an investigation into the possibility of murder. CCTV footage from around the scene revealed that the deceased Anil Kumar was seen scuffling with some people in the morning.
The DCP further told that on August 7, the deceased’s brother, Vivek Vishwakarma, filed a written complaint of murder at the BKT police station and filed a case against unknown individuals. During the investigation, the police collected digital and electronic evidence from the crime scene. Based on their analysis and investigation, the accused involved in the incident were identified.
The police team engaged in uncovering the incident and arresting the accused arrested all five accused today from Shivkhad, ahead of the Chandrika Devi underpass on the Kisan Path Highway. The arrested accused include Durgesh Yadav, Kuveer Yadav alias Amar, Ranjeet Rawat, Ramkesh and Awadhesh Yadav. The keypad mobile of the deceased has been recovered from the accused.
