Yogi Adityanath leads grand ‘Tiranga Yatra’ amid patriotic fervor in Gorakhpur
Gorakhpur, August 10: A spectacular ‘Tiranga Yatra’ led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath turned the city into a sea of tricolours on Monday, as thousands of citizens marched along the two-and-a-half kilometre route from the Municipal Corporation premises to Railway Station Chowk with flags in hand, chanting Vande Mataram and Bharat Mata ki Jai, showering flowers, and resonating with the slogan “Nation First,” while the Chief Minister himself walked the entire stretch carrying the tricolor amidst overwhelming patriotic fervor.
Inaugurating the Tiranga Yatra, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath garlanded and offered flowers to the statue of the brave queen Maharani Lakshmibai in the Municipal Corporation park, remembering her contribution to the First War of Independence. He then ascended the stage, laid a wreath before the portrait of Bharat Mata and delivered his address.
He then proceeded to the Town Hall, garlanded the statue of the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, and led the Tiranga Yatra. Member of Parliament Ravi Kishan Shukla, Mayor Dr. Manglesh Srivastava, and other public representatives accompanied the Chief Minister in the Tiranga Yatra. Alongside them, marched enthusiastic school children. Everyone waved the national flag, and the entire area resounded with patriotic slogans.
As the Tiranga Yatra, led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, progressed, the entire route was illuminated with the colors of the national flag. Slogans of “Vande Mataram” and “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” created a patriotic atmosphere during the Tiranga Yatra. People of all ages, including members of various social, cultural, and business organizations, gathered along the roadside, from the Municipal Corporation to the statue of Maharana Pratap at Railway Station Chowk, welcomed Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath with a shower of flowers amid cheers. The Chief Minister concluded the Yatra by offering flowers to the statue of Maharana Pratap located in front of the Railway Station. On this occasion, the Chief Minister also distributed chocolates to some children.
The Tiranga Yatra, led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, was given a grand welcome at 16 locations along the Tiranga Yatra route, accompanied by the sound of drums and flower showers by various organizations. The Drug Vendors Committee in front of Hotel Shivaay, the Marwari Yuva Manch in front of Patanjali Store, the Advocates Council at Kachari Chowk, the Sindhi Samaj in front of Kripal Vastralay, the Golghar Vyapar Mandal in front of Jalkal, the Mobile and Electronic Service Committee in front of Gandhi Ashram, the Baldev Plaza Vyapar Association in front of Baldev Plaza, the Sikh Samaj at Ganesh Chowk, the All India Industry Trade Board near the National Medical Store, Councilor Manu Jaiswal near the Kali Temple, the Purvanchal Industry Trade Board in front of the Cyber Police Station, the Sarafa Mandal at the Police Line intersection, the All India Industry Trade Board in front of the CO’s office, the Rapti Complex Business Association at the Traffic intersection, the Medical Cell near the Malikin Hotel, and the Teachers’ Cell in front of the Vardaan Hotel extended a grand welcome and felicitation to the Yatra.
Cultural workers and folk artists left no stone unturned to make Tiranga Yatra memorable. The Yatra was welcomed with cultural presentations at 8 places. Bunty Baba Group near Hotel Shivaay, Sonika Singh Group at Kachhari Chowk, Sugam Singh Group at Jalkal, Ruchi Kori Group in front of Golghar Central, Heena Komal Sharma Group near Kali Mandir, Prem Paraya Group at Police Line Tiraha, Gajendra Group at Traffic Tiraha and Vindhyachal Azad Group near Vardaan Hotel presented cultural programmes.
