Tamanna Malik’s ‘Kanwar Yatra’ sparks online abuse; accused Farman Khan nabbed, freed on surety

Sambhal, August 12: Tamanna Malik, a resident of Badanpur Basai village in the Asmoli police station area of Sambhal tehsil, has drawn attention after participating in the Kanwar Yatra wearing a burqa. She was accompanied by her friend Anisha alias Alisha Bano from Ghaziabad.

During this pilgrimage, an objectionable remark was posted on Tamanna’s social media account by Farman Khan, a youth from Behta Sarthal village under Sonakpur police station in Moradabad district. Acting swiftly, Sambhal police arrested Farman for disturbing the peace.

After his arrest, Farman publicly expressed regret, apologizing with folded hands and holding his ears. He admitted his mistake, promising never to make derogatory comments about women again and vowing to respect them in the future.

City Magistrate Sudhir Kumar Soni confirmed that Farman, son of Pappu, was booked under sections 135/126/177 for disturbing the peace. He was produced before the court and subsequently released on bail after two sureties were furnished.

The incident has sparked local discussions, with many praising Tamanna’s devotion during the Kanwar Yatra and the police’s prompt action against online indecency.
