
Yogi holds review meeting, emphasizes safety arrangements for festivities
Gorakhpur, October 11: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday directed officials to make strict security arrangements for Durga Puja. He said that traffic should not be disrupted under any circumstances during the festival. To this end, discussions should also be held with Durga Puja committees so that each committee’s event can contribute to smooth traffic flow.
Chief Minister, who arrived in Gorakhpur on Sunday, held a meeting with officials at the Gorakhnath Temple to review preparations, law and order, and development works for the Durga Puja and Dussehra festivals. The Chief Minister’s special emphasis was on the peaceful and joyous celebration of Durga Puja and Dussehra.
Chief Minister said that discussions should be held with Durga Puja committees to ensure that Durga idols are not placed on the road. During festivals, the roads are relatively crowded, so traffic should not be disrupted. Along with ensuring adequate security arrangements, a plan should be developed to ensure traffic is not disrupted. He also directed that special attention be paid to cleanliness during festivals.
Chief Minister Yogi said that Durga Puja committees should be consulted to ensure that the height of Durga idols and pandals is not too high. He also issued instructions regarding the DJ sound during the idol immersion ceremony after the festival. He said that the DJ sound should be within the prescribed standards so that no one is inconvenienced. He asked officials to pay attention to this.
CM Yogi said that places should be marked for idol immersion. Immersion should take place only where artificial ponds have been created. He said that there should be no problems during idol immersion. Arrangements should be made for the idols to reach the immersion site without any obstruction. There should be no encroachment on the roads, and any loose electrical wires or dilapidated poles should be replaced. Crowd management should be done appropriately.
Chief Minister Yogi said that administration and police officials should inspect the idol immersion route in a timely manner and ensure all necessary arrangements are made. During the meeting, information was sought about the water levels of rivers and the relief and rescue efforts being carried out for those affected by floods and heavy rains.
He said that full assistance should be provided to those affected by floods. River water levels should be monitored. He urged all concerned departments to remain alert. Chief Minister Yogi also inquired about the progress of projects under construction in the district.
He said that all work should be completed on time and that no project should be delayed. He also directed that the road leading to the railway overbridge in Bhopa Bazaar, Chauri Chaura, be completed as soon as possible.
