Sambhal, 30 July: Four persons were detained on suspicion of cow slaughter in this city on Saturday.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Chakresh Mishra confirmed the arrest, saying, “One Bhura of Pipla Rahampur village alerted police on July 26 that cattle had been slaughtered near the village’s outskirts.
โThe same day, an FIR was filed against unidentified people in connection with the incident, and an investigation was launched. The inquiry revealed that Bhura, Mohammad Nabi, and Taufiq butchered a cow. Ramgopal arranged the cattle for them,โ added SP Mishra.
The three killed the cow and reportedly notified police in order to inflame tensions in the region during the month of Sawan,” claimed the SP. An action under the Gangster Act would also be filed against the four, he said.
