
Swearing-In Ceremony of BJP government in West Bengal scheduled for May 9
Kolkata, May 5: Following the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)’s historic victory in West Bengal, preparations for the formation of the new government have intensified, and the date for the swearing-in ceremony has been finalized.
The BJP state president Samik Bhattacharya has announced that the state’s new Chief Minister will be sworn in on May 9th. However, the official announcement of the Chief Minister’s name is still pending.
Speaking to the media on Tuesday morning, Bhattacharya stated that May 9 holds special significance because it also marks the birth anniversary of Kaviguru Rabindranath Tagore. He further stated that West Bengal has a rich historical and cultural heritage. It is the land of great figures like Raja Ram Mohan Roy, Subhash Chandra Bose, Swami Vivekananda, and Rabindranath. The new government will work towards restoring the state’s dignity and identity.
According to sources, the swearing-in ceremony will be held in Kolkata, in which senior party leaders, workers and a large number of supporters will be present.
Amit Shah becomes the central observer.
Meanwhile, the Parliamentary Board of the Bharatiya Janata Party has appointed Union Home Minister Amit Shah as the central observer for the election of the leader of the party’s legislative party in West Bengal. Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has been appointed as the central co-observer.
This time the BJP has got a landslide victory in West Bengal. The BJP has won 206 seats in Bengal.
