Two UP cops taken off duty for performing ‘naagin’ dance in uniform

Pilibhit, 17 Aug: An official said on Wednesday that a police Sub-Inspector (SI) and a constable were removed from duty for ” naagin dancing in uniform” during the Independence Day celebration.

According to a police press release, Pilibhit Superintendent of Police Dinesh Kumar P sent SI Saurabh Kumar and constable Anuj to police lines after becoming aware of videos showing police officers dancing in uniform. The incident occurred late Tuesday night.

During the Puranpur police station’s Independence Day celebrations, the pair reportedly broke into dance. Someone on the phone recorded the act, and the video was shared online.

The SP has directed the area’s circle officer, Virendra Vikram, to investigate the matter and submit a report. The accused police officers have been relieved of their duties at the police station and assigned to the police line until further orders are issued.
